Aug. 23rd, 2006 @ 01:51 pm Hello
You know the DFW rpg group rarely posts . So I'm going to do my best to get it moving again.

So I say lets start with Introductions (Again if needed)
Post who you are, what you do, what games you run, or run in and your group size.
Maybe we can have a get together or something.

I'll start

Name: Malcolm Harris
Occupation: Comic Book Writer/Game Designer
Age 36
Game Experince: 24 years
Currently running: Advance Marvel Superheroes Adventures.
Favorite RPG: Witch Girls Adventures (The one I wrote in stores late 2006)
Least Favorite RPG: Travler (what's with dying in character creation?)
Group: 8 Members (5 males)(3 Females)
Game day: Saturdays
What I think a GM's should be: Adapative and flexable. You are telling a story for the enjoyment of your players. Work with them.

Aug. 22nd, 2006 @ 01:51 pm Gaming Quotes
(Cross-posted from my journal)

My gaming group has a long-standing tradition. Anytime someone says something stupid or funny (most of the time both) around the table, we write it on an index card and hang it from the game master's screen. In the course of 13 years or so, we have accumulated quite a collection of these cards. I, of course, have saved them for posterity. Here they are, presented for your enjoyment. The speaker is also noted, because it is often relevant to the quote.

It may seem that some people have a lot of quotes. Keep in mind that some of these people have been gaming with me damn near every weekend for ten years.

Cut for extreme length and geekitudeCollapse )

Howdy, greetings from Fort Worth! Just joined live journal yesterday and found this group. Been playing D&D on and off for the past 30 years. Yes, I'm afraid that I'm an old fart (43 years young). Hope to exchange some ideas here. Play with a group about once/ month. After six years, I'm planning on going to GenCon in about 3 weeks with 3 others. Four days of games, woot.

The 64 page RPG

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

So the first draft is almost done on the RPG Witch Girls Adventures “Based on the award winning comic-book Witch Girls tales by your truly”

I’m writing it and laying it out to fit in a the same space of a 64 page comic. So Far I have everything done save the first adventure and for that I have three pages. This has been a really cool way to I think to teach the always wordy me to get down to the nitty-gritty on content in a project.

When you have to write a new game with new rules and an entire world and you give yourself just 38 smaller than full size pages you learn brevity and simplicity.

So Draft one almost done its time to look for Play-Testers.

If any of you have a group of gamers or know some young Harry Potter fans (Witch Girls is oft compared to that and its something I can’t get away from and I’ve stopped trying). Please contact me here. I’m going to burn the complete Book in PDF format on Mini CD’s for those interested in throw in a NDA.

Take care.
BTW I'm DALLAS BASED.

May. 18th, 2006 @ 09:09 pm Hello!
Hello all! I went searching for a D&D community, and was thrilled to find one for the DFW area.

My name is Dan, I'm 24, and I live in Arlington (I-30 and 360). I've done plenty of role playing over the years, but wouldn't you know that I have yet to play in a D&D campaign. It's not due to lack of effort, though! LOL I've created some half-dozen characters, all for campaigns that have fallen through.

Anyway, I'm just saying "hi" and I hope I can be of benefit to this community. If I run across any other D&D RPGers, I would certain give this place a plug or two.
